We started our Rottweiler rescue efforts November of 2001, with crates for each of the rescue Rottweilers to building large concrete runs for their comfort and happiness. To know these Rottweilers are away from harm; whether in some cases of abuse, abandonment, hunger, not wanting them to so many other reasons of there pass history. To see these Rottweilers playing in the house and running around our 5 acres is a sight of pure joy. We look into their eyes and see such love they are begging to give their newly adopted family and us.
Our Mission
WeCare Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. has no shelter and no office, yet we are available through our web site and by phone. We are devoted to saving Rottweilers. Our mission is to provide charitable and educational services in the form of quality shelter and care of these precious Rottweilers who have been abused, neglected, abandoned or surrendered. We bring these rescue Rottweilers into our home, we try to find new and permanent homes for them. Our Rottweilers we save come from dog control shelters, humane societies and relinquish families. Most of them would be euthanized without our intervention.
WeCare Rottweiler Rescue, Inc. is committed to controlling the huge pet overpopulation by spaying or neutering prior to adoption to prevent the cycle of overpopulation from continuing. Our Rottweilers are also vaccinated and placed on heartworm and flea preventative if they are heartworm negative. If a Rottweiler tests positive for heartworms, it is treated before it goes to its new home. All other physical ailments if the Rottweiler has, such as ear infections, eye infection, are treated prior to placement. Each Rottweiler is housetrained and given basic obedience before adoption. We do everything within our power to ensure that the Rottweilers we place are healthy.
We can not guarantee specific congenital or hereditary disorder defects occur in any of these Rottweilers, such as hip dysphasia, leg disorders, elbows, eyes, cancer or any other known congenital or hereditary disorder problems of the Rottweiler breed. The testing for this is very expensive and we do not have the funds to provide such testing.
We perform a temperament test on each Rottweiler to ensure the Rottweiler is temperamentally sound. Rottweilers who do not pass our temperament test or who have a bite history are not accepted into our home. While our dogs are in our home they are further evaluated. This allows us to see how well the individual Rottweiler does while in a comfortable environment. We are also able to see if the Rottweiler can get along with other dogs, children..for better placement.
We feel it is important for any known history on our Rottweilers, whether it is medical or abusive background if known, to be given to the prospective adopter. We feel this is important to the adopting family to help serve the Rottweiler better as well as their veterinarian.
We give advice to potential and current Rottweiler owners through the internet, mail or phone of proper care, health issues, training and behavior issues.
Our policy requires that an adoption application be completed before adopting a Rottweiler. Potential adopters are required to provide a veterinarian reference as well as the names of three other people who will give a reference for them. We ask that potential adopters allow a home visit, and we prefer that the home have a fenced yard. A Rottweiler is matched with the adopter's lifestyle and family if we determine the home is a healthy and loving environment . WeCare Rottweiler Rescue does require a donation of $200.00. The donation is strictly used to spay or neuter, vaccinate, feed, preventatives, educational and provide medical care for future Rottweilers. Our Rottweiler Rescue is supported totally through donations. All donations are used to further our rescue and educational efforts.
We are a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization, your donations are tax deductible.
